Ladywell theatre

In this adaptive reuse project, the derelict Ladywell bath house was chosen for the design of a new theatre. I used scaffolding as a construction method as it allows my stage to adapt to different types of performances. This is important as it can accommodate Lewisham's range of local communities in music and theatre. This theatre is aimed at the under-35 age group because it forms the majority of the demographic in the area. I therefore designed a standing and seating theatre space, inspired by concert staging, to create a youthful, immersive experience.
